Description

BUDS2 (BRP Utility and Diagnostic Software) is a comprehensive multi-language diagnostic solution designed to provide full insight into BRP electronic control modules.

Using the BUDS2 program, technicians and service specialists can perform advanced diagnostics, configuration, maintenance and software management procedures on supported BRP vehicles.

The BUDS2 license level “Dealer Technician” provides functionality equivalent to the tools and privileges available at authorized BRP dealerships.

When used together with the MPI-3 Diagnostic Kit, BUDS2 with Dealer Technician privileges allows you to perform the following operations:

  • Edit vehicle information

  • Test, add or remove DESS keys

  • Adjust engine parameters

  • Activate module outputs

  • Stop the engine remotely

  • Monitor live vehicle parameters

  • Troubleshoot vehicle faults

  • Replace electronic control modules

  • Update module software and/or calibration data

  • Read and reset historical diagnostic data

  • Save vehicle information to local storage

  • Print vehicle information reports


Available License Types

Different license categories are available depending on the vehicle segment:

  • Skidoo — for servicing Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles

  • Spyder — for servicing BRP Roadster Spyder tricycles

  • SeaDoo — for servicing personal watercraft (PWC) and BRP boats

  • ATV — for servicing BRP quad bikes

  • SSV — for servicing BRP Side-by-Side vehicles


Installation Requirements

Proper hardware configuration, compatible software environment and stable internet connectivity are critical to ensure optimal BUDS2 performance.
BRP technical support may be limited if the system configuration does not meet the following minimum requirements:

    Intel Core i5 or Core i7 (3rd generation or newer),
    or AMD FX / Ryzen processor

  • Processor Frequency:
    Minimum 2 GHz for dual-core processors,
    or 1.5 GHz for processors with four cores or more

  • Memory (RAM):
    8 GB or more

  • Storage:
    At least 5 GB of free space on drive C:
    Solid-state drive (SSD) is strongly recommended

  • Display Resolution:
    Minimum 1366 × 768

  • USB Ports:
    At least two available USB ports

  • Operating System:
    Microsoft Windows 7 (Service Pack 1, 64-bit)
    Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit), or Windows 11

  • Internet Connection:
    High-speed internet connection required
    Recommended download speed: 30 Mbps or higher
